Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for a Site Medical Technician (EMT / RN) to join us on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This project offers potential Project Team members a valuable opportunity to broaden their professional experience and advance their careers throughout its duration. The CEPP plays a vital role in Everglades restoration, aiming to enhance ecosystem health, improve water storage, and increase resilience to climate change.

Job Title: Site Medical Technician (EMT / RN)

Salary: Competitive compensation package based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide first aid and basic medical care for work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Assess injuries and determine return-to-work, modified duty, or escalation to outside medical care.
  • Coordinate emergency response (EMS activation) when required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all incidents in compliance with OSHA and company protocols.
  • Support incident investigations with medical input as needed.
  • Monitor jobsite conditions for health risks (heat stress, dehydration, fatigue)
  • Assist with post-incident procedures, including drug and alcohol testing coordination.
  • Maintain medical supplies, equipment, and treatment area readiness.
  • Partner with Safety to support injury prevention and compliance initiatives

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EMT (State of Florida certification) or Active RN License (Florida).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (ACLS preferred for RN).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (emergency response, occupational health, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and injury documentation practices.
  • Experience on construction or industrial project sites.
  • Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements.
  • Experience with workers’ compensation or return-to-work programs.
  • Bilingual candidates will be given preferred consideration.

Physical Requirements:

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Work long shifts with non-standard break times.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination, quick reaction times.
  • Able to work in confined or enclosed spaces.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots.
  • Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area (1/2 mile or more).
  • Able to Enter the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground.
  • Capable of sitting in the operator’s seat of equipment and have an adequate field of vision of all instruments, gauges, warning lights, as well as an acceptable field of vision out of the windows and/or mirrors (if authorized for that piece of equipment).
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
