Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for a CADD Technician to join us on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This project offers potential Project Team members a valuable opportunity to broaden their professional experience and advance their careers throughout its duration. The CEPP plays a vital role in Everglades restoration, aiming to enhance ecosystem health, improve water storage, and increase resilience to climate change.

Job Title:  CADD Technician 

Salary:  Competitive compensation package based on experience.

Overview:
The CAD Technician will be proficient in CAD software and thoroughly understand construction processes. As a CAD Tech - Construction, you will play a crucial role in supporting our project team by creating detailed drawings, plans, and blueprints, contributing to the successful execution of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to produce accurate and detailed construction drawings using CAD/Revit or similar software.
  • Generate layout plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings specifically tailored for the project.
  • Ensure drawings adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the project.
  • Revise and update drawings as needed to reflect design changes and project modifications for the project.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation of all drawings and revisions related to the project. AutoCAD Civil 3D (2-3 years).
  • Ability to develop surface models from survey data.
  • Create Cut/Fill reports.
  • Autodesk Recap (2-3 years). 
  • Magnet Collage (willing to learn).
  • Magnet Office (willing to learn).
  • Pix 4D (willing to learn).
  • Survey Layout.
  • Shop Drawings.
  • Experience with drone surveying and processing of data.
  • Construction/Engineering experience is a plus.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as a CADD Tech or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs.
  • Experience working with 3D environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction principles, techniques, and materials.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to move freely about a construction site that at times presents a demanding terrain including, but not limited to climbing of ladders and stair towers, uneven and often wet surfaces, and slopes.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
