Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for a Construction Surveyor to join us on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This will be a 10-year project and marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This project offers potential Project Team members a valuable opportunity to broaden their professional experience and advance their careers throughout its duration. The CEPP plays a vital role in Everglades restoration, aiming to enhance ecosystem health, improve water storage, and increase resilience to climate change.

Job Title: Construction Surveyor
Salary: Competitive compensation package based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Thalle is currently seeking an experienced Surveyor to perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying. The Surveyor will be responsible for the utilization of project controls and staking using a total station, GPS, and computer software in project assignments. In addition, this position will be responsible for all aspects of project control including, but not limited to, field data collection, topographical surveys, and construction stakeout.
- Provide surveying services, which include construction survey and layout on dams and other related heavy civil projects.
- Assists with survey computations and data collection including construction layout calculations, grade sheet computation, topographical/volume analysis, and project data conversion/transformation.
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and as-built surveys.
- Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
- Conducting plan research and review.
- Perform fieldwork associated with land surveying.
- Conduct business with 100% integrity and professionalism.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with land surveying.
- Field work experience a must.
- Experience must show current proficiency operating a robotic tool station, GPS, and level.
- AutoCAD experience required.
- Knowledge of geological description principles and methods.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, legal codes, and government regulation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Valid Driver’s License required, and candidate must pass be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
