This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. Job Title: Truck Scale Operator

Salary: Competitive compensation package based on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the truck scale equipment to weigh incoming and outgoing trucks. Accurately record weight data, load information, and other relevant details in the computer system or logs.
• Prepare and verify weight tickets and other necessary paperwork. Ensure all vehicles and loads comply with safety regulations before trucks enter or leave.
• Issue and process scale tickets.
• Greet and direct drivers to the appropriate areas. Communicate with drivers to resolve issues and gather necessary information.
• Assist drivers with their needs and provide basic customer service. 
• Communicate effectively and professionally with drivers and other staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe scale house.
• Manage the flow of traffic in the weighing area. Monitor the premises for any unauthorized individuals to ensure security.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on the scale equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and accurately.
• Assist with daily recordkeeping and reporting.
• Adhere to all standard operation procedures, safety guidelines and best practices on the job.
• Perform any other tasks as requested by supervisor.

Required skills and qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

• Involves split time between indoor work in a scale house and outdoor work, with a greater part of the day spent outside.
