Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for a Procurement Clerk to join us on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This project offers potential Project Team members a valuable opportunity to broaden their professional experience and advance their careers throughout its duration. The CEPP plays a vital role in Everglades restoration, aiming to enhance ecosystem health, improve water storage, and increase resilience to climate change.

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Clerk to support our procurement team on large-scale heavy civil construction projects. This role will assist in purchasing materials, coordinating with vendors, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to project sites.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing purchase orders for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Communicate with vendors to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
  • Maintain and update procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts.
  • Support the procurement team in sourcing materials such as concrete, steel, and construction supplies.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field teams to verify material needs and delivery timelines.
  • Help monitor procurement budgets and flag discrepancies or cost concerns.
  • Assist with vendor onboarding and maintaining supplier databases.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Support procurement reporting, including spend tracking and cost analysis.
  • Follow up on backorders, delays, and resolve basic supply issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, or Construction Management).
  • 1–3 years of administrative, purchasing, or procurement support experience (construction industry preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with procurement or ERP software (e.g., Viewpoint, HCSS, or similar) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Basic understanding of construction materials and terminology is a plus.
