Thalle Construction Co. Inc. (“Thalle”) is seeking a senior level Project Manager with a focus in water infrastructure projects to be part of our growing team. This position is located out of Birmingham, Alabama.

Project Location: Terrell, Texas.
Position: Project Manager
Salary: Based upon qualifications and experience level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan and formulate civil construction projects according to project requirements and engineering standards
• Ensure overall project quality control, including review of project designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications
• Create and maintain all project-related documentation and correspondence. Prepare analytical reports for presentation to upper management
• Collaborate with field management to ensure successful resolution of issues between the project plan and site execution on an ongoing basis
• Approve all equipment or personnel changes and requisitions prepared and submitted by superintendents
• Maintain timely knowledge of what is occurring on project
• Appropriately execute final authority over issue resolution related to project plan and implementation
• Demonstrate understanding of when to elevate issues and/or communicate to upper management
• Plan for and organize project staff according to project requirements, including assigning proper personnel to specific projects or components of projects
• Ensure and communicate clear roles and responsibilities to entire project team
• Conduct weekly meetings with project team (to include scheduling and costing review)
• Develop and effectively manage against project budget and ensure project meets projected/required margins
• Ensure the accuracy of weekly Viewpoint labor and equipment reports and monthly Viewpoint cost reports.
• Conduct and document ongoing financial projections of project performance throughout project life
• Submit accurate and timely cost and income projections for the project
• Submit accurate and timely payment requisitions
• Appropriately act on changes in project margins and budget variances to ensure project profitability
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of contract terms and specifications
• Act as Thalle’ s representative with owners and owner’s engineers at project meetings
• Document all change conditions
• Complete all written notification requirements
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping is maintained at job site
• Ensure timely and appropriate communications of time extensions and delays to owner in accordance with contract requirement
• Document, prepare, and initiate claims, if necessary
• Protect Thalle’ s interests, minimize conflicts, and professionally resolve issues
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of project schedule, key project milestones, and reasons for delays.
• Update project schedule on monthly basis
• Ensure accuracy, appropriate detail and timely submittal of Superintendent’s 2 week schedules
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum experience of 10 years in earthwork construction, experience in high hazard dam construction with dam heights exceeding 50-feet and elements of work including dewatering, mass excavation, chimney and filter drain installation, geotechnical instrumentation monitoring, drainpipe system installation, erosion and sediment control, moisture conditioning of stockpiled material for placement in compacted fills and site restoration.
- Ability to read and understand technical and statistical data, interpret construction drawings, architectural drawings and specifications, and legal documents.
- Prior experience effectively leading construction operations.
- Ability to read, understand and execute critical path method schedules.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Advanced knowledge of the heavy civil construction industry.
- Ability to effectively mentor teammates to promote continuous professional development.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
