We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager – Dewatering Operations to lead and oversee projects involving the design, installation, and operation of groundwater control and dewatering systems.

Job Title:  Project Manager – Dewatering

Salary:   Competitive compensation package based on experience.

This position is responsible for planning and executing dewatering projects that support excavation, mining, tunneling, and aggregate operations. The successful candidate will combine strong project management expertise with hands-on technical knowledge of pumps, piping, wellpoint systems, and water treatment, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Manage the planning, design, installation, and operation of dewatering systems, including wellpoint, deep well, sump, and bypass pumping systems.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to meet production and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pumps, piping networks, and associated equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits, discharge regulations, and safety standards (OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and applicable state/local agencies).
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and field crews to optimize groundwater control methods for each project.
  • Monitor water quality, flow rates, and system performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring equipment availability, and maintaining cost control.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement contingency plans to mitigate operational and environmental risks.
  • Provide technical expertise, training, and leadership to field personnel to ensure effective system performance.
  • Report on project progress, key performance indicators, and budget tracking to senior leadership.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in mining, aggregates, or materials processing, with at least 3 years in a project management or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, and material handling equipment.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental compliance regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
