Job Title: Computer Technician

The Computer Technician will support the IT department by managing the setup and configuration of new PCs and hardware peripherals for new hires during onboarding. This role will also be responsible for the assignment of subscription software licenses, hardware inventory management, and providing field support for hardware-related issues. The technician will assist with corporate service calls for large equipment, such as printers, and manage the ordering of related supplies to ensure smooth operational workflows.

A successful candidate can:

  •  Configure and set up new PCs and IT hardware peripherals (e.g., monitors, keyboards, docking stations) for new employees during the onboarding process.
  • Assign and manage subscription software licenses for new and existing staff.
  • Maintain inventory of IT hardware, ensuring all equipment is tracked, maintained, and available when needed.
  • Provide technical support for hardware issues in the field, troubleshooting and resolving problems both remotely and in person.
  • Assist with corporate service calls for large office equipment such as multifunction printers, scanners, and copiers.
  • Order and manage the stock of IT-related supplies such as printer toners, cables, and replacement parts.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to identify and resolve broader IT challenges.

Document all hardware setups, incidents, and resolutions for future reference.

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in IT or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a computer technician or in a similar technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC hardware configurations.
  • Familiarity with software license management and inventory systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must have own transportation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
