Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This will be a 10-year project and marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This project offers potential Project Team members a valuable opportunity to broaden their professional experience and advance their careers throughout its duration. The CEPP plays a vital role in Everglades restoration, aiming to enhance ecosystem health, improve water storage, and increase resilience to climate change.

Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Salary: Competitive compensation package.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and executing geotechnical investigations including field exploration, laboratory testing, and analysis.
- Support the preparation of geotechnical engineering reports, recommendations, and technical documentation.
- Assist in foundation design and earthwork evaluation for heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
- Interpret soil and rock data for use in stability analysis and other geotechnical evaluations.
- Perform site visits and inspections during construction to ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations.
- Coordinate with project teams including civil, structural, and environmental engineers.
- Utilize geotechnical software and tools for analysis and modeling.
- Maintain organized records of geotechnical data, reports, and correspondence.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Lead Geotechnical Engineer.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience, or undergraduate with at least 5 years of geotechnical experience.
- Prior experience in geotechnical field investigations, lab testing, and construction oversight.
- Knowledge of subsurface exploration techniques and geotechnical instrumentation.
- Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software (e.g., gINT, PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Possess or be eligible for EIT or PE license preferred.

- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
