Job Title: Quality Control Assistant

Salary: Competitive compensation package based on experience.

Overview:

The Quality Control Assistant will provide direct support to the Quality Control Manager on large-scale projects. This role is responsible for assisting with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of quality control documentation, reports, and records, ensuring all project files are accurate, up to date, and compliant with contract requirements. The Quality Control Assistant will also help prepare reports, track submittals, and support the QC Manager in day-to-day quality control operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly under the direction of the Quality Control Manager to support the Construction Quality Control Program.
  • Assist in processing, tracking, and maintaining files for submittals, shop drawings, schedules, and other project documentation.
  • Prepare, publish, and distribute daily reports, inspection records, and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain complete and accurate quality control files in the project site office, ensuring they are accessible for review.
  • Support the QC Manager in monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist in documenting inspections, deficiencies, and corrective actions as directed by the QC Manager.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets, and BlueBeam to create, manage, and share project documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project staff to support quality control communications and workflows.
  • Provide administrative and technical assistance during quality-related meetings and training sessions.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in construction project support may be considered.
  • 3–7 years of experience supporting quality control, project engineering, or construction management on large-scale heavy civil works projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel spreadsheets, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong daily report writing and document management skills.
  • Experience with water treatment plant and/or wastewater treatment plant projects is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to move freely about a construction site, including uneven and often wet surfaces, slopes, ladders, and stair towers.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone and in meetings.
