Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for an Alternate Construction Quality Control Manager on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This will be a 10-year project and marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This project offers potential Project Team members a valuable opportunity to broaden their professional experience and advance their careers throughout its duration. The CEPP plays a vital role in Everglades restoration, aiming to enhance ecosystem health, improve water storage, and increase resilience to climate change.

Job Title: Alternate Construction Quality Control Manager
Salary: Top pay for experienced and proven performers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Onsite at all times during construction and employed by the prime contractor.

Manage quality control staff consisting of engineers, inspectors, and subcontracted testing personnel.

Responsible for overall management of the Construction Quality Control Program with the authority to act in all quality control matters for the contractor.

Manage a robust quality control staff consisting of more than 10 teammates and resources provided by subcontracted testing firms.

Overall responsibility and oversight for quality aspects of the project, including management of all quality control personnel and reporting as required.

Maintain all project documentation, including material submittals, shop drawings, schedules, and project records, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Review and approve all construction submittals related to alternative construction methods and materials.

Conduct the minimum of three phases (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up) of control for each definable feature of construction work.

This project will utilize an on-site batch plant, specialized transport, placing equipment, and an onsite material testing lab.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.

Previous United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) large-scale project experience.
- Previous QCM or AQCM experience required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience, with exposure to projects of major scope, especially those involving alternative or sustainable construction methods.

Must have completed at least 1 Civil Works Project in the last 10 years with a value of $150M or more.

Completion of a Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification within the last five (5) years, or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of onboarding.

OSHA 30-hour training certification is required.

Verifiable experience as a Construction Quality Control Manager on large-scale projects (references required).

Experience leading and managing a quality control team, with specific experience in alternative construction methods.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Must be able to move freely about a construction site with uneven terrain, including climbing ladders and stair towers, working on wet surfaces, and navigating slopes.
